PRISTAVA ABOVE STIČNA
A noblewoman Virida Visconti, who was called the Lady of Pristava, once lived in Pristava. Previously, she lived at her court in Graz together with her husband, the Habsburg Archduke Leopold, and their children. When Virida's older sons took over their respective parts of the Habsburg estates, they also became the guardians of their two younger brothers, Ernest and Frederik. Princess Virida thus became "unnecessary" and finally withdrew from the court of Graz or Vienna. After the death of her husband Leopold, the sons made sure that the mother Virida found a residence suitable to her wishes in the lovje gradič next to the church of St. Lambert on Pristava.
Virida is closely connected with the monastery in Stična. Abbot Andrej Čreteški of Stis was the brother-in-law of Virida's court administrator, and his predecessor, Abbot Peter of Stis, raised her late husband. As evidenced by Virida's donations to the monastery, Princess Virida settled in Pristava between November 1395 and November 1396. Her son, the regional prince Viljem, together with his brother Leopold, who was a year younger, became the protector of the Stiška monastery.
